- Daniel and his family are slaves owned by captain and Mrs. Ivers. Daniels father Jack has soldier notes that can free his family but before he was able to use them he died.
- My daddy's soldiers' notes was hidden in Mrs Ivers's Bible.
- Now Mrs. Ivers has taken possesion so now Daniel and his mother Mrs.Arubus can't be free. Daniel goes out to sea with captain Ivers and his nephew Birdsey.
- "I am might not always be a slave"
- "On boardship I'm not Uncle, I'm Captain"
- " Yes , sir"
- Birdsey died in a storm he was pulled over bored by a massive wave and drowned .
- Daniel has jumped of his ship after the storm to go to Manhattan and find Black Sam Fraunces and look for Congress.

- I 'm going to swim to the island
- Daniel finally found Black Sam Fraunces in Manhattan, but congress is out of town in Philadelphia ,so Daniel can't buy his freedom yet.

- Nosy is getting the notes from the barell while Daniel is running from big Tom to distract him then Daniel can finally get his freedom money back.

- Big tom and Capitan Ivers are trying to get Daniel for stealing the notes ,but daniel is trying to escape so he went up the chimney onto the roof and jumped onto the shed so he can escape.

- If I try I could land on the shed roof then jump to the ground and escape.
- Daniel hopped on a buggy to get to Philidelphia ,so he can meet Congress and ask them to pay of the soldiers notes.

- Daniel has a message from Mr.Fatherscrafth that he needs to deliver to Mr.Johnson so that Daniel and his mother can be free.

- Mr.Johnson is telling Daniel about the fugitive slave law and he cannot be sold off, but if the constitution unifys then they will pay off the soldiers notes and daniel and his mother will be
