  • “Rain-drenched, fresh, vital, full of life, spring enveloped all of us.” page 170 Weather in the roll of thunder commonly represents certain emotions, or can predict further events. Weather can also be seen in common movies.
  • “That may be, honey, but we put up this land to back this thing and it’ll be just like giv- ing it away.”Page 104 The Logans land represents their freedom during that time period and how it also represents their family. Their land is an important part as it celebrates the time they were freed.
  • Page 98 “If you ain’t got the brains of a flea to see that this T.J. fellow made a fool of you, then you’ll never get anywhere in this world. It’s tough out there after Mrs. Logan found out Stacey gave it away, Uncle hammer explained to Stacey how manipulation to get items during this tough time period is quite common.
