- These are the Quakers that are on their way to the new world to seek religious freedom. They are a newer sect of religion out of England. The freedom they are looking for won't be as easy to find as hoped for.
- What do you think you are doing here!? Quakers are not welcome here in Massachusetts, leave now or you will face imprisonment.
- The Puritans (think Pilgrims) living in Massachusetts were not willing to accept these newcomer Quakers at all.
- What are we going to do, they have imprisoned us for our beliefs. Where will we find our freedom to practice our religion?
- You have been charged for practicing and spreading Quaker beliefs. You must leave this colony now or face further punishment such as death.
- Your Highness, I have come to ask that you provide sanctuary for the Quakers as well as the Catholics. They are facing harsh punishment at the hands of the Puritans.
- Yes, I shall include the Quakers in this protection for the New World colonies.
- We just received a message from the King that we are to stop persecuting the Quakers and Catholics. Which I feel would be easier on our town, prosecuting them is becoming too much work.
- Well we shall stop executing I suppose but that doesn't mean we have to accept them and treat them nicely.
