Storyboard Text

  • ZZZzz..
  • Betrayal From Comrades
  • "Yeah, we're starved!"
  • "Let's just eat!"
  • The Consequence
  • "Odysseus! Save us!!!"
  • "Zeus! Please spare my men!"
  • All Alone
  • "Guys!! Lads!! Hellooo?"
  • As Odysseus had steered the ship onto shore after giving his crew a pep talk, he had then went to go rest and pray. Unfortunately, one of his crewmates had tricked the men into eating the sacred animals. It quotes, "Now on the shore Eurylochus made his insidious plea...Better open your lungs to a big sea once for all than waste to skin and bones on a lonely island!’" (pg. 789) This shows that Eurylochus had been irresponsible.
  • As punishment for slaughtering Helios's cattle and kine, Zeus had cast a storm onto the open seas for Odysseus's men. In the text it says "...no land showed anywhere, …when Zeus Cronion piled a thunder head above the ship, while gloom spread on the ocean." (page 791) Readers can infer that Helios had ordered the men be punished as Zeus had another idea & strike the ships and seas.
  • After the damage and destruction of the storm and other catastrophic events, there Odysseus drifted for days until he came unto land. In the text it says "All that night I drifted, and in the sunrise, sure enough, I layoff Scylla mountain and Charybdis deep..." (page 793) This illustrated that Odysseus was all alone in the sea, also showing that his men had been caught up in the storm.
