  • A Time of Ideas, Blood and Destiny
  • The French Revolution was a time when France was experiencing political, social and economic chaos. France had so many problems all because the government did not do its job and did not care for its people. The people of France were suffering. The streets and cities were absolutely filthy. Disease would spread from these dirty conditions. Food was very low leading to lots of starvation. The tax system was very unfair. The poorest people had to pay all the taxes. The people of the 3rd estate had had enough. They demanded change. At first they tried to do this peacefully. When the first two estates did not change their ways the 3rd estate turned to extreme ways. Violence erupted. People were killed. The government and country crumbled. The French Revolution has begun!

  • The third estate went to go back to the estates-general but they were locked out! The meeting was called because of their complaints and now they weren't even allowed to attend! They did not let this scare them and they had their own meeting at a near by tennis court. They made an oath to themselves not to leave until they had a new constitution where everyone was equal!

  • The women of France had enough of the starving they have endured. They knew the King and his family enjoyed giant parties with huge amounts of food while they didn't have enough food to feed their families. The women stormed the beautiful palace, took the kings food and forced the royal family to come back to Paris with them. It's time for the King to see how his people are really living!
