- Susie is at lunch speaking with her friend about buying a dog for companionship. Susie's friend asks her where she is shopping for dogs as she knows Susie usually buys her pets from commercial breeders
- Pet Adoption Fair!
- Susie's says she is likely to buy her dog from a breeder to which her friend begs her to at least look into adopting a dog from a shelter or foster 'paw-rent'

- At home, Susie performs a Google search and finds 'bestfriends.org' (a humane animal shelter). While Susie is browsing the homepage she is moved by the photos of homeless pets and notices a link to check for any adoption events near her
- Susie enters her ZIP code and a list of upcoming adoption events displays and there is one this weekend. Susie is able to add the event to her iCal from the website and Susie goes to the event
- At the adoption event, Susie finds and falls in love with Russell. After a brief orientation and paperwork, Susie adopts Russell 💕
- Susie is so changed by the event and Russel's 2nd chance at life that she returns to bestfriends.org to make a substantial donation in Russel's name. Going forward, she vows to continue to donate any way she can
