  • Some of reasons why settlers traveled the Oregon Trail is because they wanted a new life and they were very impatient. It was also because of the Economic Depression. The Americans did not sleep in the wagons since they packed so much in them, that only the children can fit in there.

  • There were many hardships on the Oregon Trail. For example, the sun made the pioneers dehydrated Also, the cold nights freeze them and when they cross rivers, they have to be very careful or they will crack the thin ice. With these type of hardships, it made the chances of survival really low. Even though the hardships made the journey very hard for the settlers, there are many beautiful things they saw in the journey like the landmarks, wild flowers and the colorful birds that fly in the sky

  • Once, the settlers reached their destination, they settled in Oregon, California, Washington, and many more states in the West. Some people today wonder why the West so important to the Americans back then. The West represented an idea of freedom to the Americans back in the day. The journey has been an adventure to many Americans because the Oregon Trail helped them explore horizons beyond their wildest dreams. Without it, we would have discovered those beautiful landmarks months after the Oregon Treaty was created.
