- You really are good for nothing. Be more like your brother. Now go to your room and study!
- Look at your brothers test result- he got a A+ for gods sake!
- I really am good for nothing… why can’t I be as good as my brother so mum will love me too…
- Lana gets a “low” grade on her test and her mother questions her about it.
- At school..
- You’ve been quite distant lately… is everything okay?
- I’m fine…
- Lana’s mother scolds her for her grade and downgrades her self esteem by gaslighting her that’s she’s a good for nothing and comparing her to her brother.
- Several months later…
- Listen to me when I’m talking to you brat!
- Lana is in her room crying thinking that her mother might actually be right and longs for her love.
- At school counsellors office…
- She’s been verbally attacking me.
- She distances herself from her close friends due to depression and the pressure of getting good grades.
- After several months later, Lana doesn’t respect her mother anymore because of the mental abuse her mother has given to her.
- Lana asks help from the school counsellor about her problem.
