- Stephen was a 12-year-old shepherd who in May of 1212, went to the king and said that he got a letter from god, saying that he should lead a crusade. However, the king wasn't too happy about this idea. And niether was the pope.
- However, this didn't stop little Stephen, who by June gathered an army of 30 000 children ages 11-15. Andd so they set out on a journey to reconquer the holy town of Jerusalem.
- They marched through France and other countries in Europe. However, as all the children weren't educated, they believed every town thay entered was Jerusalem. However, all the townsfolk greeted the children, thinking they were innocent children.
- However, they were not prepared for the exhausting, lengthly journey, which means that they had to get food from random people.
- One day, a man offered to take the children (as many people did). The chilren even got food and water.
- However, these children were sold into slavery and never heard from again for the next 20 years.
