Communication
ma'am I also got 1, I drew 5 children and drew 5 sweets under each child, thats how I figured each child gets 1 sweet
ma'am I got 1 as my answer
Show me your answer and explain how you got it
1+1+1+1+1= 5the answer is 1
Now, Natasha, what answer did you get?
Now, how did you get 1 as your answer?
Principle 1
Let's work out the problem together
we have 5 friends and 5 sweets, so we want to share these sweets amongst these 5 friends
we are going to go outside for a practical activity
we are done distributing sweets equally among 5 friends, we can see that each child got 1 sweet
we then give each child a sweet
Now, let's draw our 5 friends
sometimes when we share we end up with something on the side, which is called a remainder.
Collaboration
now that you have sweets with you, share them equally into the 2 patty bags
I think each gets 2 sweets
I think each gets 1
Collaboration
Share the 5 sweets with the person sitting next to you2. A fisherman has 4 fish. If he share them into 2 bowls, how many fish will be in each bowl?
