A long time ago. In a land far away. The whole entire Perek Zayin took place. It took place on Ein Charod.
רד אתה ופרה נערך אל המחנה
Gideon and his army were going to have a war with the Midyanim. Before the war began, Hashem told gideon "Your nation is too big." Then, Gideon told his army, "Whoever is scared, go." Many people went, but Hashem still said that there is too many people. Hashem told Gideon to take the rest of the army to the river.

At the river Hashem told Gideon, "Whoever drinks like a dog, and whoever drinks while still kneeling should be sent home. The rest of the army, which was 300 people should go and fight the MIyanim. Hashem didn't want Bnei YIsrael to think that they were doing the fighting by themselves and take all of the credit. This is why Hashem only let Gidoen fight with 300 people.
THANK YOU HASHEM!
Hashem knew that Gideon was still afraid so he told him, "Go with Poorah, your servant to the Midyan camps. You will not be afraid after you hear two of the soldier's conversation.
Gideon heard one soldier tell another soldier about his dream. His dream was about a loaf of bread rolling in the Midyan camps and smashed into a tent and the tent collapsed. The other soilder said there can only be one interpretation Gideon will come and kill us.
Gideon and Poorah bowed down to Hakadosh Baruch Hoo, in gratittude. Now they knew that Hashem was going to save them and that they would win the war!
