Storyboard Text

  • Talk to your father about this. He was a judge and he's also an elite musician.
  • We are disputing this with them. I earned that title.
  • The following week
  • His intuition should've told him I was the best musician at that comp by far.
  • He would have told me something last night. It had to have been the principal.
  • What's he gonna be able to do?
  • Leave me alone, mom! Just leave me alone!
  • How could this happen? This is what I hate about music, the judgement!
  • Waaah!!
  • Jenna's mom: Jen! Come on, you're hours late for school! Get out of bed!
  • Yay! Time for school!
  • Wow, they're so pretty!
  • You sang very well at the music competition, honey. I wanted to give you this gift.
  • They're crimson red prayer beads. They're very spiritual objects. I hope they help you some day.
  • I got trash talked by some other musicians, but it didn't matter cause I ranked higher than them. I ranked 3rd!
  • After school, mom, after school, hahaha.
  • I was so happy. The song I played, it was a tribute to you, mom. And to my friends, to pop, and papi.
  • That's incredible, Kay.
  • Wow, can I hear it?
  • Kay, that was so beautiful.
  • After school
  • I'm very glad I could buy your first guitar.
  • Awh, thank you mom.
  • I proved myself on stage. But I feel like I still have much more to prove.
  • My music morals - my image, my dreams, my friendships, and tributes
  • I have to remember these and keep writing better music. I have to find a music identify of my own.
  • I want to play in gigs and concerts. I want to record in studios. I've gotta improve.
