- While I was getting my daily water fill, I had an idea to steal the water truck and save Zero! I got some help from the new kid Twitch who was a pro at stealing things.
- Can you help me?
- Sure can buddy.
- I crashed the truck in the hole we dug to find more of Kate Barlow's stuff. I decided to just go on foot. I wasn't sure if Zero was even alive or not, but I didn't care.
- I have to find him!
- I realized that I forgot to get water before I stole the truck, but I could handle it. I headed in what I thought was the direction of Big Thumb. Walking helped calm me down and allowed me to think clearly.
- I came this far, I'll go back when I'm too weak to walk. I might aswell continue to look for Zero.
- What is that? Is that an animal?
- Eventually, I came across a boat, at first I thought that I was hallucinating but I remembered that this place used to be a lake. On one side of the boat there was a pile of dirt and then a tunnel leading down below the boat.

- It was Zero! Zero’s face looked like a jack-o’-lantern that had been left out too many days past Halloween. It was sad to see him like this but I was so happy to see him alive!
- He found something called "sploosh" that tasted like peaches and filled my mouth and body with serenity. We decided that we would go to "Big Thumb".
- What does that look like Zero?
- Zero and I were tired to death but we had hope. Zero threw up everything in his system because of the century old sploosh.
- I asked if he was alright and he just flashed me the thumbs up. We continued our way up Big Thumb with Zero not being in a great state and me being crazy tired.
