- Agamemnon was living luxuriously as the King of Mycenae in Ancient Greece. He had his beautiful queen, Clytemnestra, and his son (Orestes) and three daughters (Iphigenia, Electra and Chrysothemis ). Agamemnon became king after his brother, Menelaus (King of Sparta), took back power forcefully from their brother, Thyestes and their nephew, Aegisthus.

- Menelaus, the King of Sparta, had his wife (Helen), kidnapped by the Paris, who is the Prince of Troy. King Agamemnon was to be the commander in chief and lead the Greek troops to Troy to fight for Helen.
- Crossing the Threshold
- Agamemnon had upset the goddess, Artemis, by killing one of her sacred animals and boasting that he was better at hunting than her. As a result, she prevented the Trojans and the Greeks from carrying out their conflict To appease the angry goddess, she would need a royal maiden sacrificed to her, such as one of Agamemnon's daughters.
- Tests, Allies, and Enemies

- Agamemnon had decided on sacrificing his daughter, Iphegenia, to Artemis to make peace with her. The Greeks can now sail to Troy.
- Allies: Agamemnon had trusted in Achilles and Odysseus to help lead the army Enemies: The Trojans and the prince, Paris. Tests:Agamemnon and his troops went through many "ups and downs" throughout the Trojan war. The Greeks had been victorious against Paris and the Trojans but Paris had been spirited away to safety by Aphrodite. Athena had prevented Helen from returning home. Achilles gets shot in the heel by Paris. The Greeks retreat to come up with a new plan.
