Rescue from Without
"The Giver would transfer every memory of courage and strength that he could to Jonas" (Lowry 195).
Jonas didn't want to go to his dwelling because he knows his dads secrets now and doesn't trust him.
Gabriel wouldn't have had any life so Jonas and Gabe left the community to try and find Elsewhere.
The Giver helps Jonas create a plan to leave the community. He will give him all of the memories he would need to survive.
Jonas is on a snowy hill bringing back all of the memories of family, snow, and Christmas.
"He settles himself on the sled and hugged Gabe close. The hill was steep but the snow was powdery and soft, and he knew that this time there would be no ice, no fall, no pain. Inside his freezing body, his heart surged with hope" (Lowry 224)
