The Best Baseball Game ever

- Play Ball Paityn Wilson7th GradeMrs. Davis5/26/2021
- The six best friends were headed to school. Elfie, because of his funny hair cut and great second baseman, Susie, who should have been a boy, as she was the best third baseman around, Billy, the smart one , who kept up with the game and stats and played first base, , Camryn, the best short stop, Landon our catcher and Paityn the top notch pitcher.
- On the way to school the six best friends decided it was time to invite Flame, Joey and Hunter to join their team. These three were the best outfields around. Each could throw a ball from the out field to home plate like a rifle, straight and accurate. The last player Billy was the best utility player, he could play anywhere.
- The ten players met at the field to practice and agreed to call the team the Panthers. They were going to need a lot of practice, as the Steelers had challenged them to a game of winner takes all.
- A time was set for 7:00pm at our school baseball field. The only bad part was that we had to go through the dreaded tunnel and jump the fence to get to the field. As 6:45pm came we knew something was wrong. Our pitcher, Paityn was missing. There was no time to hunt for him, we had to just hope he get there soon.
- Yes, they will never think to look in the basement.
- This will be a good place to hide Paityn until the game is over. With only 9 players on the field, all we need is for one to get hurt, haha.
- It was not good. We were behind and really needed Paityn. Billy was doing a good job, but he was tired.
- ...back to Paityn...Paityn is almost free. He knows he needs to be with his team.
- When things could not get worse, the second baseman was hurt when a runner slid into him. There is time out called so Elfie can be evaluated. Will he play or not.
- Paityn is free and runs with his bat as fast as he can. He feels the games must be half way through and knows they need him. If he only knew how bad, It appears Elfie will not be able to continue playing.
- As Paityn nears the field he sees the ball laying in the pitching area and everyone around Elfie. The Umpire is turning around to give the win to the Steelers with a forfeit for us. Paityn yells, "I am here, wait, I am here. Everyone was surprised to see him .
- Then everyone noticed that two of the Steeler players had left the field and were running away. Might these be the two that kidnapped Paityn?
- After figuring out what happened, the umpire made the Steelers play with only 8 players...GAME ON! We were energized, hitting three homeruns in the 6th inning and bringing in a total of 7 runs. Camryn and Susie made a double play in the 7th inning and Paityn stuck one batter out. The final score was Panthers 11 and Steelers 9. This was a great time for 10 friends and bragging rights for months to come.
