  • The gods agreed for Enkidu to die since they needed to be punished for offending the Godess Ishtar so gilgamesh slowly withered away.

  • Gilgamesh was still shocked and was full of sorrow since Enkidu is slowly dying by withering away in thin air.

  • Enkidu was sent to the underworld and was trapped there. Until Shamash the Sun god opened a hole big enough to fit Enkidu's spirit to float out of the Underworld.
