- The long walk

- While busy at work one day, I get an email that one of my sr. managers needed to speak to me urgently!!!
- Trying to figure out what was wrong, I nervously walked to her office down the hall. All the while thinking if I messed up a big piece of the major project I was working on, or was I going to get hit by the most recent round of lay-offs...
- My manager started by saying "I know things have been rough for all of us at the company, especially for you, but....I need to ask something of you" After a long pause, the dark face of the my manager turned cheerful and she sais "I would like for you to consider going out with one of my colleagues, who is visiting from the US!" After a sigh of relief, another round of questions came to mind. "Who is this guy? What does he do? Where does he live? Why am I even considering this??" After learning a few more details, I reluctantly agreed, but at the same time, was in agreement with my manager, that I did need a night out to have some fun and relax.
