- Rainsford had fallen off of his yacht and ended up on a island where he was going to be hunted. It was a gloomy morning for Rainsford. Rainsford had been running for a while. He just climbed out of a quicksand lake and was taking a break. Rainsford thought that he was going to be the hunter not the hunted. he started to hear Ivan coming after him with a pack of dogs.
- Rainsford was scared and didnt want to die. He decided to climb up a tree to escape Ivan and the dogs. Rainsford was thinking of ideas on how he could kill Ivan. If he got rid of Ivan then surviving would be a whole lot easier. Rainsford couldn't understand why the general was being so cruel.
- Rainsford decided to tie a knife to a sapling. The trap ended up killing Ivan, but not the dogs. After Rainsford killed Ivan general Zaroff started to come after him.
- "I will not lose my nerve, i will not" Rainsford said as General Zaroff started chasing him. General Zaroff was trying to shoot Rainsford before he escaped off the island. Rainsford was doing everything that he could to slow down the general. He made many booby traps until he was finally able to jump off the island.
- General Zaroff was dissapointed that he escaped, but he could always get more people to hunt. General Zaroff decided to go to bed and when he got into his room Rainsford was sitting on his bed waiting for him.
- General Zaroff was suprised that Rainsford came back. Rainsford said "I am still a beast at bay, get ready General Zaroff". Rainsford killed Zaroff and slept in his bed.
