- The Juvenile Justice System
- 1. Intake - You are taken in for suspicion for a crime only bad for kids (unruly) or bad also for kids and adults (delinquent)
- You're coming with me, kiddo! Skipping school?! Come on, your parents are worried. You're such an unruly, doing petty stuff only kids would ever do, and likewise, you get punished like the kid you are! Ha! You're lucky you didn't do anything worse like assault or murder: things that would get even grown adults like me in trouble, otherwise I wouldn't be so nice to you!
- I heard you arrested a girl? Did you call her parents?
- 2. Informal Adjustment - is there enough evidence to charge you with the crime?
- Oh my. Then I just we do have to charge her. Go tell her in the lobby.
- Yes. I have her sitting in the lobby and I went up to the front desk to pull her records. It turns out she was absent since 4th period, but she was never signed out by anyone.

- Youth development center?! I only skipped for 1 day, I should get released to my parents or 30 days at juvie or even go to the Department of Juvenile Justice for 2 months- it wasn't that major! I absolutely disagree!
