  • King Richard met with Wat Tyler on the 14th of June, fearing more trouble. Richard agreed to the peasants demands of not having a poll tax and so on. While they were having this conversation, some of the peasants marched on to the Tower of London, they found the Archbishop of Canterbury and the King's treasurer and beheaded both of them. Richard's main armies were out fighting wars with the French and the Scots. He was frightened and went into hiding. The rest of the peasants that had been satisfied had started for home. Richard agreed to meet again on the 15th of June.
  • King Richard met with Wat Tyler again but this time accompanied by the Lord Mayor of London. During the meeting, the Lord Mayor got annoyed with Wat Tyler and stabbed him in the neck, Tyler was taken to hospital. The king spoke to the rebels and told them his promises and persuaded them to go home. The peasants didn't know about Tyler at this time. Later on, Tyler was killed at the hospital. John Ball was found and killed along with the other leaders of the revolt. It was over at last.
