Storyboard Text

  • Imagine a meteorite heading towards the earth. That meteorite is discovered by NASA. Their researchers say that it won't hit Earth for another estimated 100 years. The researchers take note of what they need to know, including: What it is made out of, its speed, and its size. They noticed that it was irregularly large and reported it to other colleagues, but otherwise didn't think much of it, as they have taken precautions. I think that this is a good story because it has detail and is realistic because we know that space is full of meteorites. I think that this could be a great start to a movie or film because it could be added on to very easily since we know a lot about meteorites already. It could also be a great opportunity for a big twist.
  • A couple of months after the initial observation, the meteorite was hit by a large, unidentified object, which made it go much faster, but still heading towards earth. I can explain this by stating that the meteorite was hit from behind, which propelled the object forward and into the gravity field of earth, causing its speed to increase.
  • The unidentified object was travelling at a far grater speed than the meteorite. Once the object crashed into the meteorite, there was a large explosion that broke it into several smaller pieces, all heading in different directions...most of them still towards earth, creating a meteorite shower. NASA them must scramble to identify all of the pieces and prepare the earth for several collisions. Mayhem follows and the scientists panic...
