Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • Main Conflict
  • Rising Action
  • The protagonist, Rainsford, is a famous hunter who thinks the world is made up of two ranks--hunters and huntees. He is on his way to the Amazon to hunt jaguars when he falls off his yacht and swims to Ship-Trap Island. Here Rainsford meets up with a Russian hunter named General Zaroff who bought the island for an evil purpose.
  • ClClimax
  • The main conflict is man vs man. The sadistic Zaroff takes pleasure in hunting humans for sport and has decided that the expert hunter, Rainsford, would be his next victim. Rainsford needs to outwit the Russian general in order to survive the "game" that Zaroff has created for his amusement.
  • Falling Action
  • Trying to outwit Zaroff, Rainsford digs a Burmese tiger pit and plants sharpened stakes in the bottom. Then, Rainford hides in the bushes after covering the hole with a trapdoor made of woven leaves and twigs. Zaroff's prize dog plunges into the pit to his death as he tracks Rainsford's scent. The next day Zaroff returns with his whole pack.
  • DenoResolutionuement
  • Rainsford is being pursued by Zaroff and his pack of dogs. There is no escape; death is certain. He runs towards the cliffs overlooking the sea and notices the chateau in the distance. Gazing below at the rumbling, hissing sea striking the rocks, Rainsford pauses before deciding to plunge into the water.
  • After bidding his dogs goodnight, Zaroff switches on his bedroom light. Suddenly, Rainsford leaps out from behind the bed curtains to shock Zaroff who thought Rainsford drowned. Rainsford challenges Zaroff to a battle to the death with the victor getting to sleep in the excellent bed and the other becoming dog chow.
  • Rainsford defeats General Zaroff and feeds him to the great hounds. Rainsford decided that "he had never slept in a better bed". (notice the wall art)
