- In 1754 the French army wanted to take over the American Indian's land, but the Indian's won't let that happen, and so the French and Indian begun.
- “No Taxation without Representation”
- In 1763 British started something called the British Imperial Policy. It was where British taxed a lot of stuff to recoup money from the French and Indian war.
- Boston Tea Party
- The Stamp Act was a act that said that colonists had to pay a tax or ever stamp they purchase from the government.
- Signing the Declaration of Independence
- Colonists felt they were being unfairly taxed. Colonists paid a lot in taxes, but had no representation in British parliament.

- The Boston Tea Party occurred when three men of the Sons Of Liberty snuck on to a ship and dumped 342 crates of tea.

- The Declaration of Independence was written on July 4, 1776. It was written by Thomas Jefferson. He wrote it in four parts.
