- Don Julian and Carmen were muttering a conversation about how the engagement between Esperanza and Alfredo is taking too long. Alfredo overheard their conversation.
- How must Esperanza hurry if Alfredo, a man such as himself, is a bachelor and in his thirty’s is not doing anything?
- What’s the matter with Alfredo? Why must he make Esperanza wait? I’ve not known of Alfredo having an affair either!
- In the same way, Esperanza isn't rushing.
- One evening Alfredo and his father Don Julian went to the house of Judge Del Valle. Then and there where he met an unexpected woman who seems to be the sister of the judge and is a guest of the house.
- Nice to meet you Ms. Del Valle.
- It is fine, I remembered a same experience as yours, which is why I did not hurriedly correct you. I'm Julia, nice to meet you.
- Oh, pardon my mistake.
- You are mistaken, she is the judge’s sister-in-law, Julia Salas.
- All these years, I’ve been seeing the light of dead stars.
- My lingering feelings for Julia cannot be found. It saddens me, but the love for my wife Esperanza, surpasses it.
