- If I Were A Mayan, By: Peter Stack

- The Mayan civilization lasted from 2,000 BC to 1542 AD. Also, the civilization lived in Southern Mexico and Central America.
- Now, the daily life of your average person, called a "Commoner", males/men would go to the farms, working, if you were a farmer. After the day of working, you would go home and bathe and work on tools or crafts.
- In our Mayan empire, the government was made up of a council, and a king. Priests also played an important role in the government, telling the king about the future and helping out the king on decisions in a crisis in the empire.
- Like other civilizations, religion was a VERY important part. We belived many gods- gods of nature to be specific. Also, we would chuck precious items into a sinkhole for one of the gods.

- Finally, our artwork. Our artwork is usually inspired by our religion or our kings- being that our kings wanna be remembered. Also, we would paint pictures on our houses and on public buildings. Adding on, only the wealthy would be literate, meaning to be able to read and write. Everyone else was Illiterate- not able to read and write. Thanks for watching!
