  • Society
  • What the picture shows is actually not true at all (unless you were an untouchable)! The civilizations of ancient India had their own different governments. In the Indus Valley Civilization, priest kings were at the head of government. And other places boasted a stable, centralized government that allowed the flourishing of trade and culture.
  • FOOD!! yes, foodthe ancient Indians ate a diet of mostly wheat, barley, vegetables, fruits (Indian dates, mangoes, and berries), meats (cow, sheep and goats), and dairy products. Archeologists have found fishing nets and hooks in the ruins of early Indian civilizations, showing that they also liked to catch and eat fish.
  • It is referred to frequently in the ancient Indian texts. The four classes were the Brahmans (priestly people), the Kshatriya (also called Rajanyas, who were rulers, administrators and warriors) see Savannah's storyboard for 1 and 2.
