Storyboard Text

  • The Odyssey by Gareth Hinds
  • It's true, Father. He was slain justly by young Orestes. But what of that great man Odysseus? Does He Deserve to live out his days trapped and groaning on the island of Ogygia, far from home, held there by the Nymph Calypso? What do you have against him?
  • Exposition
  • These mortals do love to blame their sorrows on us, don't they? But they cause most of their own troubles! Look at Aegisthus, killing king Agamemnon after we warned him not to. What did he expect?
  • My child, what strange remarks you let escape your lips. Could i forget thatwily her Odysseus? You know I bear him no grudge- but poseiden does, for blinding his son Polphemus the Cyclops.
  • rising action
  • Created by Akshat Ranjan
  • Climax
  • In the exposition, Zeus is talking to one of his many daughters, they talk about Odysseus, revealing the main character. Then, the reader can interpret that it's taking place in ancient Greece because Zeus is in this scene. Then it goes down to a island. Showing Odysseus talking to the Nymph that is holding him captive.
  • Falling action
  • In this scene, complications arise , the enemy side ambushesOdysseus's side. However, Odysseus's side was prepared to defend themselves. some of the soldiers did not want to fight, but they were forced to. After their victory, the townspeople ( including Odysseus) planned to attack the next day. This part of story is a great turning point to keep the reader interested.
  • Resolution
  • In this scene, Odysseus is going to war because the other side started the war by ambushing, causing a butterfly effect. The butterfly effect is when someone does something it makes someone else react and so on.
  • In the falling action, Zeus daughter comes down from Olympus to bring peace instead of war. She told Odysseus to lay down his arms so he cold die of natural causes. That meant that he would have died in that very fight. Even though the climax was it's a turning point, it's not as big as the climax. The climax is a larger turning point.
  • lay down your arms Oddysseus to live out the rest of your days.
  • So, because the Greek god ended the fight, everyone decided to lay down their arms and lived the rest of their lives peacefully. Like the end of every fairytale, they lived happily ever after. This shows that war is not the answer and that we can work out our problems peacefully. That peace is the option that everyone should take. Now I use that moral every day.
