The Life of Moses

- Once upon a time long ago in the land of Egypt lived a baby named Moses. Moses and his family were Israelites. Egyptians treated Israelites unfairly.
- When Moses was still a baby the ruler of Egypt called Pharaoh made a law that every baby boy must be thrown in the river and drowned
- Oh no! Not my baby!
- EVERY BABY BOY SHALL BE THROWN IN THE RIVER. EVERY GIRL MAY LIVE.
- Moses' parents hid Moses from the Pharaoh's guards for three months to keep him safe
- Moses parents realized that they could nothide him anymore. She made a basket out of twigs and leaves and sent him down the Nile river
- I hope he is ok
- Moses sister named Miriam followed Moses to see where he went
- Look! A baby in the river! He is so cute!
- The Pharaoh's daughter found Moses floating in the river
- She felt sorry for the baby in the river and decided she would take Moses home with her
- The Pharaoh's daughter raised Moses in the palace. He was very happy.
- When Moses was much older he saw one of Pharaoh's men hurting a Hebrew slave. This made him mad
- Moses hit the man and let slave go free
- This made Pharaoh very angry. He told Mosesto leave the palace and never come back.
- Moses ran away from Pharaoh to a place called Midian
- Moses worked as a shepherd in Midian for forty years
- One day Moses was leading his flock to the mountain of God called Horeb. Then the angel of God appeared to him in a flame inside of a bush. The bush did not burn
- Moses did not understand why the bush was not burning so he turned away from the bush
- Moses Moses!
- Moses heard God call his name
- Here I am!
- I am God. The God of of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
- Moses hid his face from God because he was afraid
- The Egyptians are hurting the Israelites and they are scared. I have been listening to their cries for help. I am going to save them from the Egyptians and bring them to a perfect place.
- Moses, I am sending you to rescue the Israelites from Pharaoh and set them free.
- Who me? Why me? How could I save the Israelites?
- I will always be with you to help you
- What should the Israelites call you when I tell them you sent me?
- I AM THAT I AM
- Tell the people of Israel that the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob sent me to bring you to a perfect land
- Moses convinced the Israelites to go with him
- Israelites! I have been sent to free you from slavery!
- LET THE ISRAELITES GO!
- But first Moses had to convince Pharaoh to let the Israelites free
- NO WAY!
- God send down 10 plagues to force Pharaoh to let the Israelites go free
- The first plague was water to blood
- The second plague was frogs
- The third plague was gnats
- The fourth plague was flies
