  • In the novel “Great Expectations” true Friendship is an important theme. Despite how Pip changes throughout the novel his true friends remain loyal to him.
  • How dare you treat others that way. What's happened to you?
  • Regardless, that Biddy knows Estella is not a good person for Pip, she still aids him in learning and becoming educated. She serves as the voice of reason and constantly reminds Pip how poorly he treats others.

  • We've always been the best of friends, hasn't we Ol' Chap!
  • The second person who remains faithful is Joe, who is like a brother and father to Pip and never forsakes him. Joe even pays off Pips obscene debt from a lifestyle he couldn’t keep up with.

  • Finally, his friend Herbert even remains loyal and assists Pip by providing him a job after Pip is nearly thrown in debtors prison.
