- So, I am going to share farming techniques used in Telangana. First is Mulching:An uncovered piece of land is covered with straw or any other layer of organic matter. This method helps the soil to retain moisture.
- Hey!! I am Amar an environmentalist who belongs to Haryana, working with NGO who is actively participating in the activities being conducted in conservation of soil. And I recnetky visited Telangana and I am very impressed with the approach of farmers towards Soil.
- Second is 2) Contour Barriers:Barriers along the contours are made by growing grass or by putting stones to help in preventing soil erosion.
- Third is 3)Terrace Farming: It is the construction of terraces or flat steps on steep slopes. Terrace farming helps in reducing surface runoff water and prevents soil erosion.a
- Forth is 4) Contour Ploughing:Land is ploughed parallel to the contour of a hillslope. This makes a natural barrier for water to flow down the slope.
- And the last is 5)Shelter Belts:Trees are planted in straight rows to check the movement of winds. It prevents soil erosion. So we should use these methods to save soil.THANK YOU!!
