- Hi! I'm Nicholas Hall
- Booked is about a thirteen year old boy who has his world flipped upside down. In the beginning, he has a good life, nothing wrong, soccer is good, he's not getting in too much trouble. However, out of the blue his mom leaves to go to Kentucky to train a horse. Then, to make matters, worse Nick's appendix explodes and has to miss soccer and the things he loves to do.

- The initiating event is when Nick is playing FIFA with his best friend Coby. At this time, he is just having fun worry free.
- In Ms. Hardwick's class, Nick daydreamed and was yelled at when he was asked a question and didn't know the answer.

- At Miss. Quattlebaum's dance school, he got to dance The Waltz with his crush April Farrow.
- Nick's mom takes a job training horses in Kentucky, but his parents are going to have to split. This is going to hit Nick hard, because he was closer to his mom than his dad.
- However, without notice, Nick's appendix explodes. This is a big blow, he can't play soccer or go to school for three weeks!
- In the end of the book, mostly everything is back to normal. Nick is back in school, he's back to being the star player on his soccer team, and is even together with April. But, he mom and dad got divorced.
