- George took Lennie to the lake. they thought it was a peaceful place. Lennie drank out of the lake.
- Falling Action
- Lennie wanted something that he can touch. George gave him a puppy. Lennie got to rough with the puppy and the puppy snapped at him. He ended up killing the puppy.
- Resolution
- Lennie was talking to Curley's Wife and George told him not to talk to her. He was not supposed to go near her. She was nice to him and he wanted to touch her hair. She let him touch her hair and he got rough. He ended up pulling her head and he put his hand over her face and she couldn't breathe. He was suffocating her while she was screaming for help. He told her to stop screaming so George doesn't find him and not let him tend the rabbits. That's all he cared about was tending the rabbits.
- Forshadowing
- Lennie was hiding after he killed Curley's Wife. People from the ranch were looking for Lennie. He was hiding behind a rock in the brush.
- George realized that Lennie was going to get caught by the guys from the ranch. He wanted Lennie to die in a peaceful way. George was talking to Lennie about the Land that they wanted to have and about the animals. He wanted to keep Lennie calm.
- This is when they killed Candy's dog. They said the dog was old and it was no good. They didn't want the dog anymore because it was smelly and Candy still wanted the dog. It was his companion.
