A Million Dollar Throw Robert Mosley
Storyboard Text
- Nate Brodie is a 13 year old kid that plays football on his school team, Valley Massachusetts. His friends call him Brady referring to the football player, Tom Brady. School work has never came easy to him however football always has. Football has always helped him get away from life considering his dad lost his job. Nate and his best friend Abby get a half day off from school so they go outside and throw the foot ball and Abby the football hits Abby in the head. Abby tells him that he's alright and they both go home.
- Nate and Abby saved up their money so they could buy a foot ball signed by Tom Brady. While They are there they enter a throwing competition at a football game on thanksgiving day. The next day during a game with Nate's school and Blair Bears the score is 7-7. Nate is having a bad game and his coach Coach Rivers tells him to Adopt sports amnesia like the pros do. The game ends with Nate's team losing with a score of 14-13. After the game coach Rivers told him that Abby fell out in the stands. Nate calls his mom and she says that Abby and her are leaving the hospital. This is when he finds out Abby has a condition that will make her blind.
- Nate hasn't spoken to Abby since then Nate doesn't think too much about it considering he has another game coming up, but he is concerned. Later on in early November, Nate's team was playing against the Melville cowboys. Unfortunately Melville had scored in the first 3 minutes and the game ends up tied. Melville soon gets an advantage to their team by 21-7. Nate's Coach puts Eric in the game and puts Nate on the bench even though Nate can't remember being put on the bench in any other games.
- Nate find out that Abby is going blind and that she will be going to another school for blind people. Nate found himself raising his voice at her and starting an argument. They didn't talk to each other the whole weekend this is the first time that has happened in their friendship. Nate has lost his position as quarter back just like how his dad lost his job. Nate's mom tries to help him with his throwing by setting up targets in it backyard she had told him to try and miss three time and Nate hit both of the targets perfectly.
- Coach Rivers starts Eric as the quarter back in the game. Dennison gets the upper hand. The Coach puts Nate in the game and eventually he keeps scoring and gets the game back on track. When Nate is about to score a touch down he gets tackled. However he gets back up he figures that if he can make a fist he can win the game. Nate scores the last point in 5minutes and leads his team to victory.
- Nate was very anxious for the event he always thought about a saying that was often said though out the book. The saying was You are what your record says you are. He had to throw a football into a whole however it was all the way from the end of the football field. All of the contestants bring out their best, but none of them makes the shot. He makes the shot and celebrates Nate is proud of him self for winning the million dollars. Tom Brady tells him that he should never stop believing in him self and put the past behind him. He walks past him and say that he will expect see him later in the NFL.
