  • Maya Angelou was born on April 4, 1928 and didn't had a good childhood when growing up
  • She lived in St Louis Missouri with her parents but at the age of three, her parents divorced
  • During most of her life, Maya Angelou and her brother, Bailey went to live with their grandmother in rural stamps, Arkansas
  • Maya Angelou moved to New York in 1950s where she joined the Harlem writers Guild, sang at the Apollo, and later became involved in the civil rights movement
  • She fight hard for racism. Maya Angelou write about racism and her own life
  • Angelou defended the rights of women, young people and the ignored. She became a confident person and try to stop the bad treated to African American
  • Maya Angelou is a person that don't give up easily and stay positive, no matter what happen through her life. She even write a poem about it named "Still I rise".
  • Maya Angelou believe what was right and that nothing can stop her not even her skin color.
  • Angelou was an American poet memoirist, and civil rights activist. She published autobiographies, books of essays, books of poetry. She let people see that to stay positive and be brave no matter what happen.
