Ralph and Piggy find a conch shell after the plane accident and use it to call for the other lads. Ralph is chosen as the group's leader after an assembly is held. The guys set up the rules, create shelters, and try to keep a signal fire burning
CLIMAX
As more time passes, tensions begin to arise among Jack and Ralph because Jack wants to take charge of the group and be the leader. Jack will eventually gather his own band of hunters and begin to question Ralph's leadership once this happens.
FALLING ACTION
Fear of an unknown "beast" on the island causes tension among the guys. They begin to suspect one another and argue amongst themselves as their anxiety levels rise. The guys are certain that a monster is hiding in the jungle, so they set out to find it. They resort to cruelty and violence because they are scared of the beast.
RESOLUTION
During a wild nighttime rite, the boys, who are scared, mistake Simon for the feared "beast." Simon comes out of the jungle and tries to talk to the other boys. He has found out the truth about the claimed beast and tried to tell the others. But because they are so scared, they surround and beating him.
As the fight for the power heats up, a fire is started in the jungle with the intention of drawing Ralph out of hiding. The fire instantly gets out of control and consumes quite a bit of the island, as well as a substantial portion of the flora that was still there
Ralph finds himself exposed to the harsh realities of the outer world when he is found by the naval officer who has just arrived. At first, the officer is ignorant of the chaos and violence that has broken out among the boys. Ralph, totally exhausted and starts crying.
