- Sir, the Athenians have grown too powerful, we must do something.
- You're right we need to go to war with them before they become too powerful.
- Well i have a plan, that is guarnteened that we will win. Lets hide behind our walls, that way they can't attack.
- Pericles, the Spartans are coming, we're at war now. What are we supposed to do? they have a stronger army than us.
- You foolish human. There is no way you can reach us over this wall
- Than we will wait here as long as we need until you surrender
- Unfortunately for Athens, a plague spread quickly in the walls. About 1/3 of the population were wiped out. While trapped behind their own walls. Unfortunately during the time of this rampant plague, Pericles, their leader also died.
- After 25 years of fighting the Spartans. The Athenians mighty navy was defeated at tbe battle of Aegospotami. Which led to the Athenians eventual surrender a year later.
- After the surrender, Athenians walls were torn down, the navy was disbanded, and the Athenian empire was destroyed as long as classical Greek culture and goverment.
