Sakura's eyes were red with frustration, she didn't know what to do. How could she have turned her back to her best friend? She never thought that if Zuko and her ever came to a point where they were no longer friends she would be sobbing in her bedroom like a little girl.
How could I? Why would I do such a thing? It's all my fault.
Zuko was confused. After all the two of them had been through, Sakura had chosen the "cool" kids group over him. He knew he was bullied in school and if they found out that he was Sakura's best friend, she would be made a laughing stock.
How could she do that? We're best friends
Its not my FAULT that you aren't cool! You didn't adapt to the new environment like everyone else
How could you betray me like that? we have been best friends for so long!
They both didn't know what to say as they locked eyes in the canteen. They didn't know whether to reconcile or never talk again and leave a cold war deep in their hearts
Fine then!
If you can turn your back on me, I don't see why I can't.
As they sat at the canteen tables they both made sure to sit far from the other. Both still contemplating what they should say, and trying not to make eye contact or regard the other. Out of shame and a little bit of pride.
Sakura started first, she shouted at him but made sure to keep her voice down such that the teachers couldn't hear them. Zuko retorted after his recovery from the shock of hearing Sakura shout.
As Zuko finished the argument, He turned around and walked away with his head held high. Sakura snapped back and walked the opposite way. The two felt forlorn that their old friendship had broken, it was like an end of an era, but deep down they were relieved that the argument had come to a conclusion.
