  • Mrs. Stevenson, an invalid old lady, is home alone while trying to contact Mr. Stevenson. She is paranoid and upset that Mr. Stevenson hasn’t come home yet and has been trying to contact his office.
  • Operator, will you try the number Murray Hill 4-0098 for me please? I’ve been dialing it for the last three quarters!
  • The operator finally got hold of the call. When Mrs. Stevenson connects to it, she hears two men plotting a murder that would occur that night.
  • A knife will be okay. Make it quick and simple—our client wishes it to look like a simple robbery.
