Storyboard Text

  • The Lady of Shallots tower looks over the river going down to Camelot. Fields of barley and rye spread about on the flowers next to a long winding road.
  • A reaper is reaping and he hears the Lady of Shallot's beautiful singing but can't see her, no one has, but many people have heard her melodious songs.
  • The lady of Shallot has a curse upon her meaning that if she looks out of the window down to Camelot the curse would be triggered. She does not know what the curse actually is, just that it is bad. Instead she weaves a tapestry of everything she sees in the mirror which reflects the sight.
  • The Lady of Shallot sees maids, abbots, knights walking or on their horses, and goose-girls come past the remote little island of Shallot to get across the river to Camelot. She feels really jealous because she wants to have a life and enjoy herself too. Also, she thinks she deserves a knight in shining armour to love.
  • In the lady of Shallot tower, the Lady of Shallot spies in through the mirror and spots a wedding of a happy newly-wed couple, and a funeral with black dressed people crying and sobbing. When she sees these events she cries out,'I am sick of seeing shadows!' This means she wants to actually live all these things and grief for alll these people.
