- Marcellin Champagnat's mother is Marie Therese Chirat Champagnat. And his father is Jean-Baptiste Champagnat. They were a reasonably poor family and lived a normal life in an old community.
- Marcellin Champagnat, a French Marist Priest, was born on the 20th of May 1789. His parents raised him and he grew up in the small community at France.
- I am Jean-Marie Granjon and this is Jean Baptise-Audras. Marcellin encouraged us to be the first two of the many Marist Brothers to come soon.
- Marcellin's enthusiam for spreading the gospel motivated so many of the Marist brothers that he became famous.
- We have been taught by Marcellin Champagnat. He has helped us learn about the gospel and how Catholic's work. we are all enrolled in the Marist Brothers community.
- After a long-term illness, Marcellin Champagnat died of cancer on 6 June 1840. His feast day is celebrated for all Marist Brothers and recognized by most Catholics as a special day to eat (particularly bread) and celebrate the life of this very, very holy man.
