- What do you believe is the biggest contributing factor to climate change? I strongly think that it is combustion of fossil fuels
- Those are valid points but I still think that combustion is the leading cause because the fossil fuels are the leading cause for carbon emissions into our atmosphere. Us as humans produce so much, that even if the carbon sinks were at their best it still might be too much carbon for them to absorb.
- I would like to disagree, in the sense that I think that one of the biggest reasons is deforestation. I think this because us as humans are destroying places, such as forest, damaging the oceans, and polluting the air which causes the carbon to have no where else to go,causing it to build up.
- Well, can you at least agree that volcanic eruptions are top 3 causes for climate change: I think they are because they can release so much carbon at once, and can cover so much land, shutting down ecosystems for a temporary time.
- That is a valid point, they are not impacting ecosystems the way combustion is. I mean combustion is one of the main reasons ice caps and glaciers are melting, giving animals like polar bears and penguins no where to live, and cold eventually cause their population to dramatically decrease.
- I think that they are definety a serious concern but I do not think they're are top three, because sure they can shut down ecosystems for a little, but the ecosystems also always come back and strive again.
- I also think that another very important cause is the rising sea level. I think this is very important because it is putting land places in water that have never been in water before, causing serious damage to ocean homes, and causing beaches to push their sand back, cause people to move out of their homes. I also think this is important because it is putting less oxygen into the water making it harder for the animals to breathe.
- Yeah, but you cannot forget the altered precipitation patters. This is important to almost every single ecosystem across the world because everything relies on some type of producer to produce their food and if they are not getting the right amount of rain or nutrients then they could not produce as much as they need to to keep the ecosystem healthy.
