The meaning of shahadah is that people not only believe in God but also pledge their submission to him. Muhammad as God's messenger—“and Muhammad is the messenger of God.” The second part of the shahadah identifies in Arabic—created the universe. AllahMuslims believe that one all-powerful God—called The first Pillar of Islam is Shahadah, the profession or declaration of faith. The first part of the shahadah affirms monotheism- "There is no god but God." Muslims also believe that all souls will face a day of judgment.
The second Pillar of Islam is Salat, a daily ritual prayer. Salat emphasizes religious discipline, spirituality, and closeness to God. Throughout Muslim communities, people are called to prayer five times a day: at dawn, noon, mid-afternoon, sunset, and after nightfall. A crier, called a muezzin chants the call to prayer. Before praying, Muslims must perform ritual washings. The worshipers face the qiblah, the direction of the Ka'bah, which is marked by a niche in a wall. The imam begins the prayer cycle by proclaiming “Allahu akbar!” (“God is most great!”
