  • Today I am going to teach you guys the Eightfold Path and what it does.
  • Section 6- Why do people gain by following the Eightfold Path
  • Ok
  • Why is it important?
  • The prince became Buddha because he realized that that denying bodily pleasures did not bring enlightenment, so he aimed to find a balance between the extremes of pleasure and pain. Instead, he would seek a “middle way” as a path to enlightenment. Nirvana is an ideal state and happiness or peace.
  • The basic idea of the 4 noble truths is to show the truths that the Buddha discovered under the Bodhi tree are the basic principles of Buddhism. The Buddha would spend the rest of his life sharing these truths with the people of India.
  • People gain by following the Eightfold Path because it teaches them to end suffering and to learn what's right and what's wrong. This path follows the "Middle Way". The 2 most important parts of the Eightfold Path include "Right understanding" and the "Right Purpose".
