  • Christmas is on December 25th. On Christmas people celebrate the day that Jesus was born. Usually people celebrate it with friends and family. Each country and family develops it's own special traditions celebrated on Christmas. Some people put up Christmas trees, some hang stockings, and some sing songs.
  • Hanukkah, a Jewish holiday, is a festival of lights. Hanukkah is celebrated for eight days, and eight nights. It celebrates when Israelites reclaimed Jerusalem. The mot traditional thing is the menorah which holds eight candles. At sunset every night of Hanukkah, one candle is lit. It is a symbol of miracle. Often families will exchange small gifts as well.
  • Pancha Ganapati is a Hindu holiday celebrated December 21-December 25th. Families make their living room into a shrine, and place the statue of Lord Ganesh in the middle. Children set out fruits, and treats for Lord Ganesha every day. Parents give children presents, and put them in front of Lord Ganesha. On the fifth day, children open their presents. Also on the fifth day, families celebrate love and peace Lord Ganesh brings.
