  • Which team do you wanna be on today
  • I'm not sure why we're having a soccer game for science club
  • Why does everything have to do with science?!
  • I know right, why does it have to be team ionic and team covalent
  • I'm Team Ionic!
  • I'm team covalent!
  • The science club is getting ready to pick teams for their soccer game.
  • That doesn't make sense!
  • Why is that important!?
  • Team ionic is strong and versatile. If the covalent team is anything like their name they're useless. Covalent bonds don't conduct electricity, and they can't stand heat. They have low melting and boiling points. Ionic bonds can conduct electricity and have a high heat tolerance. This means we can take the heat.
  •
  • You should join my team because like an Ionic bond between a metal and a non-metal, we're diverse.
  • While we may not be diverse, and covalent bonds are only between non-metals. We're a stable team and we all share the same skills. Just like how covalent bonds are stable
  • Well, an example of an ionic bond is NaCl. The 1 VE on Na is transferred to the almost full valence shell of Cl. The full valence shells create a stable compound. And this is important because compounds like this are essential to life.
  • Water, or H2O, is more important. It is a covalent bond. The two H atoms share an electron with the O atom to gain stability. This is important because you're made out of water, and it is obviously more important than a seasoning.
