  • Hello, my name is John and I will be talking to you about the few key periods that occurred after the big bang, which was the start of creating the universe. The diffrent Epoch (this stands for period) are Planck Epoch, Grand Unification Epoch, Inflationary Epoch, Electroweak Epoch, Quark Epoch, Hadron Epoch, Lepton and Nuclear Epoch, Atomic Epoch, Galactic Epoch, Stellar Epoch, I will go through the diffrent Epochs' exactly that order , and will tell you all about what times they were, the size and rate expansion of the universe ( during the early stages), the temperatures of each Epoch, any radiation that may have been present at each stage and finally the types of matter that were present at each stage.
  • The Planck Era is prior to10-43 s after the Big Bang, when we believe that the four basic forces ofnature, 1) gravity, 2) nuclear strong force, 3) nuclear weakforce, and 4) electromagnetic force were combined into a single"super" force. The idea is somewhat like the different phasesof water (ice, liquid, and vapor), which are all aspects of the samething. You can imagine that at certain pressure and temperature there mightbe conditions in which these three phases of water become a single phase,no longer distinct.
  • The Next Epoch is the Grand Unification Epoch, this Epoch was Grand Unification Epoch, from 10–43 seconds to 10–seconds this is when the force of gravity separated from the other fundamental forces (which remain unified), and the earliest elementary particles (and antiparticles) begin to be created. Furthermore during the Grand Unification Epoch, the universe was still extremely hot and incomprehensibly small. However, it had cooled down enough to allow the force of gravity to separate from the other three fundamental forces. The unification of the strong nuclear, weak nuclear, and electromagnetic force that existed during this period of time is referred to as the electronuclear force. However, the splitting off of gravity from the electronuclear force wasn't the only milestone of this epoch- this is also when the first elementary particles began to form.
