  • Rosa, can you help me answer a question? Why do we need to learn Philosophy? When will I ever need it?
  • Well, Sarita, Philosophy is important because you use it every day. when you ask a question, you are being a Philosopher.
  • Marxism: is a theory by Karl Marx surrounding the idea that there is a conflict between the rich and the poor. Also known as the conflict theory that states the poor will stay poor and that the rich will stay rich.
  • So your biography says you are a Marxist, what does that mean? How does it affect your views and beliefs?
  • You believe this theory, right? Yes, in fact, I based my studies on it.
  • So why was Marx so concerned with fairness?
  • Well, the theory was deveped during the Industrial Revolution. A time when Capitalism was a big topic. During the Revolution, the working class were losing jobs to machines and it became more apparent that the poor would stay poor, and the rich were only getting richer.
  • So Marx was looking at the world around him by asking questions about the future of the people around him. He wondered what the Revolution ment for his community.
  • So philosophy is important because it allows us to learn how to ask questions about the world around us.
  • Thank you for showing me the importance of Philosophy in our everyday lives.
  • Exactly!
