Storyboard Text

  • Hello! My name is Sarah...I'll tell you about The Puritans Age and its poetry in an interesting short comic story.
  • As you can see here on my computer, this is a close to reality art of how The Puritans used to look like. But who are they you may ask? well, let me take you on a walk with me back in the 17th century
  • Hello there, can I help you? I'm John and this is my wife Elizabeth...and you are?
  • Oh, hey...I'm Sarah! I know I sound silly but I look different because I came from a different era actually...
  • You look different...
  • Huh?
  • How is that even possible?
  • It seems insane, but I've came from the 21st century to showcase how The Puritans used to live. I wonder if you could tell me more about you, if you may.
  • Well, this is odd but I can do it for you. Please follow me to the downtown.
  • Thank you very much Mr. John and Ms. Elizabeth! It will be appreciated.
  • Yes please John, help our fellow time traveller.
  • Well, I will consider you as a guest here...I will tell you some interesting facts about us.
  • Yes please, go ahead.
  • I have noticed that!
  • I don't know if you can tell, but since we are in the 17th century...our lives are simple as you can see and we like to wear modest clothes.
  • Come on, follow me
  • That is interesting...
  • We are strictly religious and believe in the importance of leading a moral and disciplined life.
  • We also dedicated Sundays to attending church services, engaging in prayer, and refraining from secular activities.
  • I didn't know that witchcrat was real!
  • If you didn't know already, we have witchcraft in this town! and we punish them for the awful things they do!
  • Hmm...that's really creepy, I didn't know stuff like that happened
  • Here is where the accusations and executions of individuals accused of practicing witchcraft happen...
  • We are in intense fear of the supernatural and we must maintain our religious purity!
  • Oh my god!! they really existed a long time ago
  • Did you mention me?
  • The authorities will know how to handle this witch. Let's leave this place and talk somewhere else.
  • We will go to somewhere we closed a long time ago and I will tell you about it when we arrive there.
  • We have been walking for a few minutes now...can you tell me where are we going?
  • Huh? a theatre? wasn't that popular for literary works?
  • Well...it was in previous centuries, but literature should not be used for entertainment. It must be used in the service of religious discourse.
  • That's weird, why would you even decide to close it? what people are supposed to do in their free time?
  • That is exactly the point. We are very conservative and we don't believe in things that take our time other than religion.
  • But the theatre production was not entirely absent from the colonial landscape, they still do it in private for the wealthy and in temporary stages outside.
  • This actually reminds me of how humans can be similar. Even in our recent days we had such period like this in the 1970's.
  • Do you know that women roles are played by young boys?
  • Acting was considered a disreputable profession, and it was deemed improper for women to engage in such activities.
  • Coming!
  • Now come on, we have one last thing to talk about...let's go back to my home.
  • I would never thought that this will happen in the future too, I guess it is human nature, haha
  • That is true, I enjoyed showing you few places. Now one last thing
  • I didn't notice that it got dark, time went by so fast.
  • Hello Ms. Elizabeth
  • Hello darling, there's one more thing I need to show her before she leaves.
  • Welcome home, I'm glad you are both okay. You took too long.
  • Who is it??
  • Since we were talking about literature previously, I did not mention someone who has an impact in our age!
  • John Milton!
  • I know him I learned about him in Prof. Afraa's class! He wrote Paradise Lost! It is an epic in 12 books and took 5 years to finish!
  • I cannot believe it, the original version by John?!
  • Exactly! it is also called the John Milton age alongside being called the Puritan Age
  • This is his book by the way!
  • Yes! You can take home with you
  • Wow, I cannot thank you enough for telling me some interesting facts about lives, and I get to go home with a special gift!
  • We are glad that we could help someone from the future. I never thought people would be still interested in our era.
  • That is true
