Storyboard Text

  • Everyone is equally qualified for each job and everyone earns the same pay. No one is better at a job than another person.
  • Make sure to keep the masks on, students! It ensures equality for you guys!
  • There is no way to ensure total equality in schools. So, kids no longer go to school, leaving the school buildings abandoned.
  • There are multiple jobs that need workers, therefore not everyone can have the same job. There are people who have to work in City Hall, while there are people who have to work in retail. True equality can never be reached.
  • I wish I had a different car. Everyone has this car.
  • In his story "Harrison Bergeron," Kurt Vonnegut makes the point that true "societal equality" has causes more problems than it fixes. Though, it sounds good in theory, in practice it takes away vital parts of humanity. For example, Hazel forgot that her son was killed a few seconds after it happened because of her limited train of thought time brought about in order to keep everyone "equal." Humankind needs diversity because our strengths are in our differences. We cannot be carbon copies of each other and Vonnegut used satire to make a joke out of society wanting to make everyone more equal and preaching equality.
